myGov is your gateway to Australian government services. You'll use it for Medicare, Centrelink, tax returns, and more. Think of it as your digital government ID.

You can't access Medicare, Centrelink benefits, or lodge tax returns without myGov.

Go to my.gov.au and click 'Create an account'

Enter your email and create a strong password

Verify your identity with your passport or driver licence

Set up two-factor authentication (use an app, not SMS if possible)
Set up 2FA properly. If you lose access to your account, it's a nightmare to recover.
