1. Who we are

Lanndd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a settlement companion for newcomers arriving in Australia. Our website is lanndd.com and our service is operated from Australia.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Account information — email address, name, and password (or Google/Apple sign-in credentials)
  • Profile information — visa type, city of residence, country of origin, and arrival date
  • Checklist progress — which settlement tasks you've completed and any notes you add
  • CV Builder data — work experience, skills, and education you enter when using the AI CV Builder (paid feature)
  • Rate alerts — remittance corridor preferences and target rates you set

We also collect automatically:

  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns (via Vercel Analytics, privacy-friendly, no cookies)
  • Device data — browser type, operating system, and screen size
  • Location data — approximate location based on IP address (used only for GP Finder results)

3. How we use your information

  • Personalise your settlement checklist based on your visa type, city, and arrival date
  • Generate AI-powered priority recommendations for your tasks
  • Build Australian-format CVs when you use the AI CV Builder
  • Show remittance rates and send rate alerts for your chosen corridors
  • Find nearby GPs using the Google Places API based on your location
  • Improve and maintain the service
  • Communicate with you about your account or service updates

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers — Neon (database hosting), Cloudflare (API hosting and file storage), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payment processing for CV Builder), and Anthropic/OpenAI (AI-powered features)
  • Google — when you use Google sign-in or the GP Finder (Google Places API)
  • Wise — we fetch public remittance rate data from Wise. Your personal information is never sent to Wise.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (Sydney, Australia region). Files such as generated CVs are stored on Cloudflare R2. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and follow industry-standard security practices.

Authentication is handled by Better Auth with secure, HTTP-only session cookies. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.

6. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing
  • Lodge a complaint with the relevant privacy authority

7. Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication (session cookies). We use Vercel Analytics for privacy-friendly usage tracking — this does not use cookies and does not track individual users across sites.

We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to third-party advertisers.

8. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Generated CVs are stored for 90 days after creation, then automatically deleted.

9. Children's privacy

Lanndd is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on our website or sending you an email. Your continued use of Lanndd after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
