Understand course progress requirements

Student visa holders must maintain satisfactory course progress. Failing too many units can lead to visa cancellation.

Why this matters

If your university reports you for unsatisfactory progress, your visa may be cancelled. Take your studies seriously.

How to do it

How to do it

  1. 1

Check your university's academic progress policy

  2. 2

Attend all classes and submit all assessments

  3. 3

Seek help early if you're struggling - universities have support services

  4. 4

If you're at risk, your university will contact you - respond immediately

Each university has different rules, but generally you need to pass more than 50% of your subjects.
