Opal / Myki / go card
Public transport smart cards used in different cities. Opal (Sydney), Myki (Melbourne), go card (Brisbane). Tap on and off when using trains, buses, and trams.
Rego
Vehicle registration. If you buy a car, it must be registered in your state. Check the rego expiry date before purchasing — transferring rego is your first step.
CTP
Compulsory Third Party insurance. Also called a Green Slip in NSW. Required by law if you own a registered vehicle — it covers injury to other people in an accident.
